New Hampshire Elks National Veterans Service Committee Supports Harbor Care's Vets in Manchester

The New Hampshire Elks National Veterans Service Commission (NHENVSC) are staunch supporters of Harbor Care’s veterans in Nashua, but this was is their first time they visited our veterans’ facility in Manchester. When members of the NHENVSC learned that the vets of BAE-Independence Hall didn’t have a way to prepare food in their new, beautiful green space, they provided an additional $300 for a beautiful new grill.

Harbor Care Cancels Annual Thanksgiving Gathering

Though we are canceling our annual community Thanksgiving dinner at 45 High Street in Nashua, Harbor Care will continue to provide a holiday meal and celebration to residents of its Veteran housing complexes, several residential group homes, and patients at its substance use disorder treatment center in a safe manner. The organization will also be connecting with its service participants to identify needs and provide help during the holiday. Harbor Care Aims to End Chronic Homelessness

Harbor Care announced its goal to effectively end chronic homelessness in Nashua by the end of 2020. Harbor Care, in collaboration with the Greater Nashua Continuum of Care community partners, confirmed there were 21 individuals chronically homeless in Nashua, as of September 22. Harbor Care is determined to house every eligible person who meets HUD’s definition of chronically homeless.

Donor Spotlight: Bank of America Foundation

Harbor Care, a non-profit organization in Nashua, NH, received a generous grant from the Bank of America Foundation to help end homelessness in Greater Nashua and NH. Funds will be used to ensure that housing, health care, and other services needed by more than 5,000 vulnerable NH community members continue, supporting the entire continuum of Harbor Care’s housing services—from street outreach and temporary housing to case management and permanent homes.
