Board Member

Michael P. Aksten joined Harbor Care’s Board of Directors in October 2025 and serves as Co-Chair of the Clinic Oversight Committee and a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. He brings strong experience in public health advocacy, patient engagement, and community leadership. Michael serves on the New Hampshire HIV Planning Group Advisory Board and participates in statewide integrated HIV planning workgroups focused on prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and response. He is also a Patient and Family Advisor at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and a Client Advisor to the HIV HOPE Program, supporting efforts to improve care access and retention. Additionally, he represents Dartmouth Hitchcock in the HRSA 2030 Center for Quality Improvement and Innovation (CQII) Care Collaborative focused on re-engaging individuals living with HIV who are out of care. Michael is an elected Ward 4 Selectman for the City of Nashua and is an active digital community voice focused on public health and civic engagement.
