Harbor Care Veterans Receive COVID-19 Vaccinations

Veteran receives COVID-19 vaccination

Boulder Point resident Donald Suprenant receives his first COVID-19 vaccination from a VA nurse from the White River Junction VA Medical Center.

Harbor Care is working closely with the Manchester VA Medical Center and White River Junction VA Medical Center to ensure our veterans receive vaccines.

The first COVID-19 vaccinations in New England to veterans outside a VA medical facility were given at Boulder Point in Plymouth on Wednesday, January 6th. Staff from the White River Junction VA Medical Center were on hand to vaccinate 25 veteran-residents from Boulder Point.

Harbor Care’s COO Henry Och — a veteran himself — asked Donald Suprenant, a U.S. Army veteran, how it felt receiving his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. “It feels great!” Mr. Suprenant said with a smile. He and the other veterans reported that they are all looking forward to getting their second dose in a few weeks.

Staff of Dalianis House in Nashua transported veteran residents to the Manchester VA Medical Center on Friday, January 8th. They received their first vaccinations, and will return in a few weeks for the follow-up doses. Dalianis veterans Miles Chamness and John Hodgeman are especially appreciative of being able to receive this potentially life-saving vaccine.
