Aimee Transforms Her Life through Our Court, Counseling, and Dental Programs - "a big feeling of relief and gratitude!"

Our client Aimee is a perfect example of this approach. When she entered the Harbor Care program with the Rockingham County Drug Court, she knew she would need ongoing support after graduation, so she now participates in our statewide peer recovery program at a location near her home. Aimee also knew she needed extensive dental work, but without insurance, she had no idea how she would pay for it. “My teeth are something I care about very much as a smile is the first thing people see,” she said. As she embarked on her recovery journey, she wanted all of the confidence that comes with good teeth.

Aimee searched for dentists who use sliding-scale fees based on income, and she could not find any who were accepting new patients. Then the Harbor Care team suggested she try our Dental Clinic at the Health & Wellness Center at 45 High Street in Downtown Nashua.

A stay-at-home mom with two young children, she worried about the hour-long travel from her house in Seabrook to Nashua, but she found both the commute and the ample, free parking to be better than she had anticipated. Aimee was greeted by a “very kind and efficient staff,” who arranged her appointments and explained how the sliding-scale fees work. “The payments were very fair and lower than other sliding-scale dentists that I had looked into.”

They all worked together systematically to provide a very efficient breakdown of my dental issues to come up with a treatment plan that incorporated my concerns,” she said. “I have a fear of dental work, and Dr. Gupta worked with me, helping calm me down during my tough moments.”
