Harbor Care’s Veterans FIRST program serves more than 450 veterans and their families with critical services including housing, mental health, dental care, substance use treatment and employment services. Last year, the agency helped 343 veterans experiencing or at-risk of homelessness.

Harbor Care operates four transitional and permanent housing facilities for veterans in Manchester, Nashua and Plymouth and is the largest provider of housing for veterans experiencing homelessness in the state.

“We are thrilled to have M&T Bank’s leadership in this important effort to end veteran homelessness in New Hampshire,” stated Harbor Care CEO, Henry Och.

Harbor Care has effectively ended veteran homelessness in greater Nashua, and is now focused on leading the effort, in collaboration with community partners, to end veteran homelessness across New Hampshire.

“We are pleased to once again support Harbor Care with a donation of $10,000.  They fill a critical role by providing stable housing, medical and mental health care, substance use treatment, and other vital services. We are proud to support such an asset in our community as they effectively ended veteran homelessness in greater Nashua in 2017,” said Tim Wade, Regional President, New Hampshire.

With more than 1,000 branches in 12 states, M&T strives to strengthen communities by providing support for a diverse range of civic, cultural, health, and human service organizations. For more information, visit www.mtb.com

Harbor Care’s Veterans FIRST program provides a clear pathway to housing, job, and independence opportunities in four ways: outreach and homelessness prevention; transitional housing at three facilities with extensive supports; employment assistance through our Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program; and permanent housing, including its Boulder Point apartments in Plymouth, NH.

Harbor Care is an innovative non-profit organization, providing housing, health care, and human services helping more than 5,000 adults, children, and families of New Hampshire each year find solutions to many of life’s most challenging issues. The organization provides high quality housing and residential services; medical, dental and mental healthcare; substance use treatment; home care; HIV/AIDS care; employment; and veteran services for individuals and families experiencing, or at-risk of, homelessness.
