The Recovery Fix: Granite State’s Recovery Newsletter
Harbor Care is the Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services’ contracted Facilitating Organization responsible for cultivating and supporting recovery centers throughout the Granite State.
As part of this important work, the program has published a regular newsletter designed to promote the reality of recovery from alcohol or substance use since 2019. The most-recent Recovery Fix includes:
An in-depth feature following outreach workers connected to SOS Recovery Community Organization who provide help to vulnerable unsheltered people,
Information about NHPR’s groundbreaking podcast series Death Resulting, which examines the history and application of Death Resulting laws that authorize law enforcement to prosecute substance users on homicide charges with minimum sentencing when they share or sell batches that contain deadly fentanyl that results in a deadly overdose,
A discussion of the negative stereotypes surrounding Meditation Assisted Treatment (which the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration calls the “gold standard” in treatment) and how these perceptions are often a barrier to treatment,
A warning from harm reductionists throughout the state about the dangers of xylazine, a large-animal tranquilizer that has been found in New Hampshire drug supplies,
And much more!
