Harbor Care Inaugurates New Satellite Clinic
On Thursday, Harbor Care President & CEO Henry Och and U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan inaugurated our new satellite medical clinic at the Cynthia Day Family Center (CDFC), which provides services for women and families impacted by substance use.
Located at 615 Amherst Street, the clinic opening marks the completion of phase one of a million-dollar project to integrate behavioral health care, medical care, housing, and social services to break the cycles of generational trauma, addiction, and homelessness. The residential program has been converted to serve exclusively women, many with children, doubling its capacity.
“The renovation project at Cynthia Day Family Center goes beyond physical improvements,” said Och. “It unifies healthcare systems into a single service site for women and their children, addressing the multifaceted challenges of substance use.” Research shows that integrated practices like these reduce recidivism, drug use, mental illness symptoms, homelessness and emergency room visits, while transforming family relationships and building a stronger, more compassionate community.

“The opening of the Cynthia Day Family Center will help more Granite State women who are dealing with addiction and other health challenges get the care that they need,” said Senator Hassan. “The American mission, dating back to our Declaration of Independence, is about bringing out the best in each other. The Cynthia Day Family Center and its approach, which meets people where they are to help them access health care, is fundamental to that mission.”
Additionally, letters of congratulations and support were presented by staff members for U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen, U.S. Representative Annie Kuster, and U.S. Representative Chris Pappas.
